The New Life Charitable Trust - a helping hand

Children Home: Mottukal

It's a well known proverb "Children are gift of GOD" and no child is born orphan. In India many children take birth and are left by their bearers alone into a world of poverty and sufferings for no faults of theirs. We at New Life have adopted 58 helpless children from 1½ to 15 years who have none to take care of them. All these tender saplings need you to help them to get out of this vicious cycle of poverty and exploitation. Most of the children would not be alive if they were not given a helping hand at the right time. There are thousands of deprived children around us and sometime we feel helpless a small effort from your end would give us emense strength to cater to more of such children left alone by recent tsunami tragedy.
We have taken up to construct Boys Stay Room with an estimate of Rs 3 to Rs 3.50 lacs funded by an NRI of DHOHA and we hope to finish the same by February 2006. Thanks are extended for his support. In appreciation of his effort we would like to emboss his name in the structure of the building.

Old Age Home: SARANAGATHI

It is the misfortune of the old to be neglected or disgraceful of the youngsters to neglect them and with time the menace is growing as our Unitarian culture is breaking into nuclear families. The New Life is supporting 50 old people who have none to take care off or deserted by their kith and kin have come into out family fold and we serve them with love and care. All the 50 old inmates are above 75 years and have no income from any quarter. The New Life's old age home provides food, shelter, clothing and medical aid coupled with love and affection and a place where they can live the rest of their lives in peace.

Health Care:

The New Life Charitable Trust in it's Programme of Mottukal and Saranagathi has more than 110 inmates, the basic health care forms the backbone of our selfless service. This led to setting up of The New Life Trust Hospital, with an objective to provide humanitarian service not only for its inmates but also for the entire village. This village being at remote place and also a downtrodden village has no medical facilities up to 9 km radius. The Medical Center has visiting Doctors twice a week supplying free medical check-ups and medicines.

Village Development:

The New Life Charitable Trust started a movement in Eraiyur Village, located in Sriperumbudur, Tamilnadu, India to render a selfless service to parentless and the old. The village is 50 kilometer away from the Cosmopolitian City of Chennai, and 21 kilometer from Sub-urban town of Tambram, and was not connected with road. In 1992 with repeated efforts with Public Welfare Department, a road was laid to Eraiyur and now one public bus is plying through this route. The village is drought prone and has absolutely no yield of ground water; though the government water is brought to this village everyday through pipelines only for few hours. Yet this is another major problem that Newlife NGO and the villagers are facing.
